The beast of life
It stirs as morning sun gives light to this creation
Fingers from an ocean sea caress the sand
Tides that swept this earth so many years before
The pattern for this life begins again
To greet a new day dawn
What rhythm has this life acquired
It is and cannot be expired
The tiger stretches every limb
A shot is fired the day begins
Mighty river you have flowed through lands
And on that journey to the sea you did bring life
Rain to wet the baby that brings hope
Give life to man who lives in tribes but all alone
Sun you dry the carcass of the fallen one
The flesh is scavenged and the bones do shine
Sun from your rays and in all ways
You are the light you are the day
I see and hear the fire in the sky
A battle ground that mirrors my desire
How can you tear a city down
Yet warm my winter chills as I lay here, upon your ground
The winged hawk, the one who charts the sky at daybreak
In search of yesterdays feast and in need of meat by sunset hour
It soars so high into the sky on a journey that no one
No one else can make except for him
He must be king
Oh How at times I wish I was like him
To fly upon a whim
Earth you change your body with no reason
You stretch your being to no rhyme or season
As you push the mountains high
And crack your land and make us cry
You are my home until I die
You are the earth
The one who makes the seasons
The one who changed the rivers course
Who overrules the Caesar
You’re understood by no one
But loved with life and lived by all
Upon your mantle I am born
I stand, I walk, and sometimes fall
No mortal man has any power
To change you or turn back the hour
You give me life
You are my love
When I die I rise above
So let the springtime water flow
And give to me the food to let me grow
I hunt, I eat, I speak, I need
I learn and strive to live and breath
My woman’s love born from you
She gives to me her heart and body
Sustained in life
By life itself
You are the earth, You are my birth
May time give me the knowledge and the joy
You gave to me at birth
You give me life and my desires
